Every
business needs people with formal knowledge of marketing to stay afloat.
Manufacturing firms want them to market their products to the consumers and
services industries need them to spread word and attract clients to utilize
their services. In short, marketing is a company’s link to its customers and
the public at large. Since they are responsible for portraying the company for
what it is and for bringing in new clients, they are sort of responsible for
the revenue a company generates. Let us look at this in detail. So, what is a marketing degree?
A marketing degree is a formal pathway to a career in this field. You can obtain a pure marketing degree at an associate, bachelor or master level or choose to incorporate marketing into another major. One example of such a program is the business marketing degree which integrates principles of marketing into the study of all business aspects.
Now
during the whole time I was considering a career in marketing, I realized two
things. Firstly, marketing is not only about learning from textbooks but it is
rather a creative field where you need to have a certain thought process and specific
personality traits. Secondly, great programs are not only offered on campus;
rather an online marketing degree may
be just as credible. These degrees are not only exhaustive in the marketing
subject matter but also interactive enough to provide the same level of practical
exposure as regular college courses. In fact, I found I studied better online
because I could pace myself as was convenient for me. I also felt that I saved
a lot of money that I would have spent on travelling to and from classes.
Now let’s go back to the first point – the traits. I have seen that great marketing professionals have great
interpersonal skills. They know how to engage the other person’s interest and the right time to make their pitch. While an online marketing degree does theoretically instill these skills in students, work experience such as through internships is even better
Having an online education master degree can help students like me in making a career advancement. I mean, no would like to get stuck on a job that does not promise a betterment, right?
